Give me work
For work is what I need
The light lives inside me
Spreads from inside me
To the paper before me
It has no rhythm, no rhyme
No sense, even
But what I feel, what I see
Gives me faith in what I can’t explain
There is a hope for us
There is a basis for life, a reason for living it
We cannot all be animals
There is a beauty, simplicity
We glimpse it in the patterns, the faces
The music that spills
Glimpses of something higher
The light in the darkness
And despite all the darkness, all the evil
No matter if it envelops all else
A glimpse, one flash
Is infinite
And so, in this world of darkness and hate
