Fainted Angels

Snow can blur sight
But cannot change what one knows.
Your footsteps creeping away,
Words are broken,
Speech is mute,
Unable to curve sounds to say.
Impossible for you to stay.
Cold becomes a blanket,
Of dirt and ice to my knees do I fall.
Pain so raw.

Like fainting angels
Falling to snow covered ground,
Lost into the nothingness of same,
A rarity to be found.
Among fainted souls
I can hear their tears hit the dirt.
Shards of glass splintered from icy eyes,
I see their hurt.
Their voices scream of condemn,
These angels fallen among the ice I understand.
I am them.

Do your eyes see what mine know?
Can you see the spots of blood in the snow?
From hearts rather than veins
Huddled among the cold breeze
The emits from the core,
A land of warmth
No more.

Among fainting angels
Broken is a state of mind.
Scared by the goodhearted to only be left behind.
Listen to the ticking of a beating heart,
We've all got our times
Like a bomb to detonate.
Only to be pushed by the hands of fate.
See all those angels,
Flying with tears.
No longer do they live among you,
They've done all they can do.

To the heavens they'll return
More dead than when they first arrived.
Simple dreams burn.
I will fly among their broken wings,
Snow pelting my lungs
Ice slicing my face.
Among those angels I take my place.
