Nightmares

You know the feeling,
When your hair begins to stand on end.
When you fell the chills down your spine.
The feeling of cold air on the back of your neck.
It's undeniable; mortifying.
You begin to feel uneasy, weak.
Vulnerable. Alone.
Goosebumps fill every inch of your arms.
The lump in your throat makes it hard to swallow.
You try to emit a scream.
But it's too late.
All the feelings that you've had before...end.
The terrifying slights that paralyze you disappear.
Your body relaxes.
You fall into a deep sleep.
Your nightmares are over.
You're set free.
