Mercy

Sitting alone, twiddling thumbs, they talk.
He, Himself, and It, back and forth, Insults to beatings
The Devil tested, Knew the weaknesses, the ties to this earth.
It raped him, shadowed his life as he held the candle high.
Light in the darkness.
Smiles to denials.
Always there will be uncertainty in the mind.
Undying, bleeding heart.
Thumping, thrumming through the lies,
Beaten by the very world that resurrected it from the pits.
Late at night he awake from nightmares.
Brain bashing against Lucifer’s will.
The mind yelling for safety,
Crying for its child,
The beating organ to be spared.
He promises change.
The whispers of a better life.
His unsure love.
It’s all oaths that will not be filled.
The heart broken, busted even further down onto its knees
Kissing the feet, making bonds that will shatter the body
Changes did begin.
Man into drugs, human into alcohol
Ambition slipped through the black of the night.
Alas, Change is a sworn enemy of the heart.
It transforms, and multiplies hate, into the actions of a whore.
It falls into the very caves of the misfit nature.
