Unattainable

If I made a list
of all the qualities
I want in my dream girl,
you would fit

Every.
Single.
One.

From the long, dark hair,
to the crystal blue eyes,
the cute dresses and scarves,
and the perfect, pink lips.

From the infatuation with language
and admiration for Jack White,
to the incomparable intellect
and sugary sweet sincerity.

Your uncanny ability
to make me feel
like I'm the only girl
in the world

Your piercing gaze
that turns my face red,
fills my stomach with butterflies,
and sends chills down my spine.

The electric brush of our fingertips,
the goosebumps left on my neck,
the suppressed squeals of delight,
the fought off urges to kiss you.

I wish I knew the words
to explain how much you mean to me,
but not even four languages
have a good enough vocabulary.

I know we will go nowhere,
but I have the dreams and memories.
I have these times I spend
all alone with you.

I have the inside jokes.
I have the silly faces.
I have the stolen glances.
I have the private lessons.

All of these things I have
will have to suffice
even though all I really want
is you.
