It All Started With a Book

It all started one early morning,
the library doors squeaked apart.
lifting my head from my book,
you stood like a piece of exquisite art.

My nerves shot up,
as you walked closer towards me.
He looked over at a friend I assume,
and whispers “Who’s she?”

My heart stopped dead,
As I looked back down.
the words all seemed a blur now,
As my lips curled into a frown.

“Why hello.” a smooth voice rang,
As my whole body froze.
I slowly looked up,
As I tried to look composed.

He sat down next to me,
his smile shining like the sky.
I put my book down slowly,
as a phone rang nearby.

A simple hello,
that’s all it took.
He stole my heart,
all because of a book.

As I stand,
In my white wedding dress.
I know he’s the one for me
this I must confess.

Something as little as a book,
can change an entire life.
And now I am proudly,
your wife.
