Clockwatching

Tick tock, tick tock.
Time is going by.
There are errands to run,
People to see,
Things to get done.
Hurry before it’s too late.

Look at the clock
And watch the seconds disappear.
Hurry, people are waiting
And the clock is proof
That time is fading.
Rush, rush, rush.

The seconds are turning
Into minutes wasted.
No time to speak.
The days are passing,
Converting to weeks.
There is no time to waste.

The chores are not done,
Move faster and stop
Using up so much time
To do useless things
As it is a crime
To enjoy and live in the moment.

Time was wasted
And nothing was accomplished.
You’ve failed this round;
For time shackles you,
Makes you Earth-bound.
What has happened to you?

How does it feel
To be clockwatching?
