Burning Flowers and Paper Hearts
I burn flowers, and sketch broken hearts
I mow over wildflowers, I rip roses apart.
I pick daisies and rip them to shreds
I pick dandelions and pop off the heads.
I hate sunsets, I stay locked up inside
I do not love love, but at least I tried
I cut out paper hearts, then rip them in half
I set them on fire, and then I loudly laugh
I hate Valentines, I hate mushy cards
I send them back burnt, with my regards
I am cynical this I know is true
But it’s cause I know you’ll never love me
No matter how much I love you
I mow over wildflowers, I rip roses apart.
