Standstill

I love you to death,
And I think that's the problem.
I look at you,
And can't imagine,
Who I'll be when you're gone.

My whole life surrounded you,
For such a long time,
That I just can't seem to fly,
Without you by my side.

I can't seem to do anything right.
And when I'm sad,
No one is there to heal my blight.

Because without you,
I'm in complete ruins.
You're the necessity to my every move.
The sweet to my aching tooth.

And after a million times
Of trying to explain,
I've come to a conclusion,
That you, I can't contain.

Because no words describe,
How you make me feel.
And sometimes I bribe,
And cheat to feel what's real.

Because without you,
I have to beg to see where you've stood.
I love you,
And maybe that's just not good!

You're my drug and I can't stop,
You're killing me and there's no way,
To turn back the clock.

Without you,
I'm not who I am.
With you,
I'm not who I used to be.
Stop fighting over me!

I'm done trying to find you.
Because you're not there!
You were breaking my heart,
But I know you care..

I have to say goodbye,
For myself,
For my pride.
I love you,
And I always will.
But, I'm done fighting for a standstill.

Another old poem, but I really like this one. Especially the last line. :)
