That Girl Is Me

She obeys him as if she were his pet.
She's a little sick, take her to the vet.
When they're done he can take her home and brush her fur.
She'll curl in a ball in his lap and purr.
All the while, hiding her broken soul.
They say love isn't something you can control.
But she'll obey him until she takes her very last breath...
Because she promised to never stop loving him, even in death...

Down her face, rolls one single tear.
Desperately wishing that he was here.
She knows for a fact that in her dreams he'll hold her tight..
But that doesn't seem to take away the loneliness of the night...

Hiding behind the words on the screen.
Inside her head she continues to scream.
She feels rather numb yet her heart continues to ache.
The smile she wears, nothing but a fake..

And beyond the screen she'll continue to cry.
Only she will truly know why.
She'll rock back and forth as she tries to calm down.
But she'll smile to help you, because nothing can help her now.

She can feel reality slowly tearing her heart...
She's very slowly falling apart...
Very slowly slipping away...
Feeling the slowness of the day...
The feeling in his words slowly fading before they disappear...
Down her cheek slowly rolls, yet another tear...

Scared to death that he'll leave her alone..
She plans to run away from home...
Her biggest fear becoming her horrifying reality...
Crying in the dark so no one will see...

The words are spelled out on her arm.
She doesn't much care of her addiction to self harm.
Written in blood, the words so true.
Written in blood, her arm says "I love you"

Holding on as strong as she ever could...
No one to help despite knowing they should...
She never mentions it, as she only wishes to please...
Waiting until she's alone to collapse to her knees...

And as she sits alone in her room, she'll cry...
Everything's falling apart and she has no idea why...
She knew the truth but tried to prove herself wrong...
But it seems to be just the same old sad song...

A broken soul, lost to the dead life of the lies.
A fake smile, covering up the pain but inside she cries.
A scar on her arm, the reminder of how she's only gotten stronger.
A broken heart, she finds no point in hiding any longer.
A Girl, she seems lonely enough without losing anymore.
Everyone, hating her to the very core...
A girl you never see...
A girl that is me...

And she's sitting in her room, she's crying.
Inside her bleeding heart, she's dying.
She screams out his name, she holds a gun to her head.
Suddenly he hears a bang, she's dead.
His name is on the bullet, he reads it through the blood.
He looks down at his feet, the crimson red beginning to flood.
