Ashes & Dust.

Red nose, sour toes, tears flow,
Her body buried in snow.
Blue skin, face thin, pale lips,
She had no place to go.

Her lover, for he is out of reach,
His eyes roam anywhere but here, at least,
She hears him give up, and fall to sleep; what she thinks, she cannot speak.
He hardly seems real; so fragile, so weak,
If she touches him though, she’s afraid he’ll break.

So many things she hides inside,
So many questions she keeps away.
Looks over at him like a world she can’t have,
And funny how she acts, when he’s already hers today.

Wrap yourself around him tight,
You don’t want him to float away.
If god brings nothing but despair to you,
That despair from you, I will take.

Give your hand to me, and I will let you guide my ways,
I ache for this longing; I ache for this moment to stay.
My voice breaks over, and I can barely find words to say.
This isn’t me, so I don’t know why,
This is me today.

I breathe with you,
My heart beats because- if you’re heart stops right now,
Mine will burn to ashes and dust.

Something I wrote to express certain feelings a while ago.
Never showed it the light of day, till now.
