My heart broke a little this morning
Tears gather in my eyes
You left the world with little warning
No one got to say goodbye

And they say “Everything happens for a reason”
And they say “No one goes before their time”
But today in this cold winter season
I can’t seem to comprehend why

It just doesn’t feel right, no, no
You had so much left you could do
Did you put up your best fight?
I don’t care what they say it was too soon
For Winter’s cold kiss to claim you
