Reflections of Complexions in an Empty Attic Room

Every time that she
Would gaze at her reflection
All that she could see inside
Was every imperfection

Thought she was a mistake
Ugly, fat, and left behind
All because nobody cared enough
To help her change her mind

No friends; failing school
Dumb and overweight
No one cared; all alone
Home a place of hate

Every day she fought her demons
With not a person by her side
Every night she fell asleep
With tears seeping from her eyes

When everything is wrong
All you want to do
Is disappear forever
But dying works too

Her mirror sits untouched
No longer holding her reflection
All because that girl
Couldn't reach the standards of perfection

Sometimes a mirror is your only friend, and what a dreadful friend it can be.
