Two Girls

Two girls,
Two lives,
Two stories.
Yet they both feel pain.
Lost,
Alone,
In their own hazy worlds.
They try to see through the rain.
One girl numbs her pain through books,
And obsesses over her imperfect looks.
The other tries to deal with strife,
By turning to the cutting knife.
Eventually both will starve themselves,
To try and awake from their personal hells.
Both girls inside are always down,
But cover up any sign of a frown.
They're masters of the hurting mask,
A trying, hard, and tiring task.
But both will break eventually,
Allowing others to actually see,
The hurt and pain they're going through,
And how they're actually always blue.
One day these two will find each other,
And become like sisters from another mother.
One has been through so much more,
The other is amazed she has endured.
Compared to the first,
Who has reason to be strained,
The second has self-inflicted her pain.
She obsesses and cares oh way too much,
Pulling away from her family's loving touch.
She has all this and still can't help,
But feel so down about herself.
The other goes through hell at home,
And has so much reason to feel alone.
Her friends at school are not the best,
They abuse her trust,
Make her feel useless.
But through this all,
They will both survive,
And not just that,
But they will thrive.
For in these hazy worlds of theirs,
They've found each other,
And will always be there.
