A poem is a message in a bottle

holding in your 
feelings your 
fears your 
flaws

you bottle it up
keep it in, keep it in
hard 
strong 
unwilling

as you wander the seas

you encounter harsh rocky waves
brave these seas
try not to lose yourself or      forget 
what's in you

but the seas
the vast big the scary 
seas
you start to    l o s e
y o   u    r  se  l  f

l o s t

as you hope 
for someone to 
come
              anyone
who will take the time
                                      care
who will slowly, carefully, 

open you up 

and drink
you 
in

feel
every bit of 
you 
understand 
you

see the lines, but through
