Sharp Gust

My emotions are crawling out of my skin
Every note he sung was the one that we fell asleep to
The one we kissed to
The one we missed each other to
Snowflakes reflected off of your skin, and fluttered onto my tongue
We tasted it; almost like peppermint
Refreshing and sweet
Chilling and haunting
Cold and gusting
Winter wool over my fingers, keeping me warm
We hung onto each other
It almost melted me inside
And as we parted to say goodbye
I knew you would always be a phone call away
