Child, Don't Be Foolin' Me

Child, don’t be foolin’ me
You’re much too old for that
And if you really think you’re somethin’, then I’ll show you where it’s at
Honey, don’t forget it now
Lovin’ is what I do
But if you’re kissin’, runnin’, tellin’ lies, then I’ll find a lover new.

Oh
Oh yeah ~
Baby, you and me been through
Too many things to count
We’re twistin’, turnin’ through our lives
In a messed up roundabout
You got lips so cherry red
You’re scrambling my mind
But I don’t think that I can bear to know
If you’re leavin’ me behind.
Ohh yeah!

Hey yeah!
Little girl, you got me tied
My hands wrapped ‘round your waist
Kissin’ you so carefully
But you’re not the only taste.
I can hear your words so clear
You say you love me, babe
Can you prove it to me and say you love me
Without doubt on your face?

Oh, no
When we make lovin’ it’s like all
The stars have aligned for us
Used to be that I could smile
And in you I put trust.
But those days are over and I gotta know sure
If you’re really tellin’ the truth
‘Cause if I find out that you’re not worth it
Then it’s time for me to move.
Oh, yeah.

Child, don’t be foolin’ me
You’re much too old for that
And if you really think you’re somethin’, then I’ll show you where it’s at
Honey, don’t forget it now
Lovin’ is what I do
But if you’re kissin’, runnin’, tellin’ lies, then I’ll find a lover new.

This is realllyyyy old, dude. I originally wrote it for a band that was gonna be the main characters in a story I never ended up writing, but I wrote this sometime in spring 2011, I think. The band was supposed to be a 1970s jam-band, so that's why the lyrics are a little out of my comfort zone. I don't know, I still think it's catchy.
