Saturday Crash/Saturday Crush

I fell in love with a whiz kid
Walking down the streets of this old town
I didn’t find out for a little while,
‘Till the night came and the moon fell down.

I was cold and you were warm
And pretty soon up in the bleachers, we held hands
I didn’t realize just how bad it had gotten
Until everybody told me how they didn’t understand.

And I! I think I saw it coming from a mile away!
(You’ll - come - to - your - senses, hey)

But I! I never took a chance until Wednesday!
(You’ll – come – to – your – defenses, hey)

Sometimes I wish upon a star
And wonder if it’s raining where you are –
I want you to intrude!
I need you here with me now
So let’s hear that thunder roll!

I’ve got a big mouth
So you better watch out
And everything that ever mattered
Is right there in your arms

You’ve got your sad songs
And I know where I belong
We’re at a death-defying dead end
And I’ve been waiting too long for this!

“You’re messing each other up.”
Says everybody surrounding us
We didn’t find out for a little while,
And then some time later, but I digress.

Our little vague answers,
Killing time as well as sanity
And our particular questions,
Spare me all your inhumanity!

Hey, you! You think you’ll get the better part of me
(Sleep – over – me, get – over – here)

Hey you! I think you know what we’re going to be.
(Sleep – over – here, get – over – it)

And sometimes I stare into the sky
And wonder if I ever cross your mind
Just let me see your hands
Just let me hold them tight
And we’ll hear that thunder roar!

Heart over head?
I think I’m better off dead!
Listen to your heart
I know, watch your head

I need you in and out of my brain, now
Just keep me in yours, save me for a Saturday

And sometimes I stare into your eyes
And think about the shit going on in our lives
So stay here
And let me crash into you
And you’ll crush back onto me!

This is another song written about me and my boyfriend's shameless flirting before we even got together, and man, I love it. I can't really say that about a lot of my songs, but this one's just so fast-paced and catchy when I hear it in my head.
