Ode to a Fall Out Boy Concert

Patrick, Pete
Joe and Andy
We wait in line to see them play.
Must get to the venue
Three hours early
To be pressed up against the front of the stage.
Elbow to elbow
Sweat and beer
Oh the life of a mosh pit dear.
Anticipation brews
The fans begin to roar
Then the opening act begins the tour.
“Who are they?”
No one cares
They just sing along anyway.
Camaraderie abounds among the fans
And then the lights dim.
Raise the white flag
Youngbloods because
I Know What Your Songs Did In the Dark.
We all scream from the top of our lungs
That we want to stay young forever
And these boys have found the cure to getting older.
Then we’re all going down in an earlier round
Wild like Young Volcanoes.
And Patrick wants to know
“Where is your boy tonight?”
And the girls all sing along
Till their lungs give out.
Then we’re all dancing and
Falling apart to half time
But we Don’t Care at all.
And before we know it we’re screaming
Oh no, we won’t go
Because we don’t know how to quit, oh no,
And then comes the encore.
So after they Save Rock and Roll
And Thnk us fr the Mmrs,
They take us away into Saturday
Because we’re all good to go,
But we’re going nowhere fast.
