Love's Tie

A rise of the tide,
In a lover's heart,
And love tied,
Until both pieces part.

Before the dawn,
Their love grows strong,
Forming a bond,
Not knowing how wrong.

Circling below, a jealous god,
Watching with malevolence,
He strikes with a careful prod,
Of love, loss and silence.

The rumble of thunder,
Signals a downpour of rain,
Lost soul to wander,
With a heart crippled by pain.

Oh jealous god, oh jealous god,
Spare me of your eyes,
Safe of your careful prod,
Spare me of love's ties.
