III-V: Pretty Little Dancer
Pretty little dancer with bows in her hair
Mommy stands by and watches her there
Daddy records while the audience stares
Not a care in the world
Pretty little girl with black ribbons, blonde curls
She watches her momma put on her nice pearls
She slips on her black dress and bites back her tears
She knew that daddy would no longer be here
Stress on the family as sister and brother keep mother held together
Beautiful young teenager, her hair up in a mess
She ran to her bedroom and slammed her door hard
Her mirror had shattered so she picked up the shards
She's really gonna do it, pierce her perfect pale skin
There was a slight silence when she though "just one time"
Maybe she'd stop it; she knew she'd be fine
But she only kept going at her skins open wounds
The gashes grew bigger, releasing the pain she'd consumed
Against the wall crying
Blood all down her arms
Times used to be simpler
Now she's here and self harms
Her grades drop so low
And she barely sleeps
She locked herself in her room
And she barely eats
Somehow she gets ahold of her mothers pills
She shuts down from everyone while she contemplates this decision
That night she does it, takes the bottle and swallows every pill down
The last thing she remembers is the sirens sound.
And then nothing,
There's nothing
Just darkness.
She turns and sees her father
This can't be true, "he's dead" she though
"And now you are too" he hugged her tight and tells her he's sorry
"It was for you, all for you, I couldn't take it, I missed you so much"
she whispered softly into his chest
"It wasn't your time dear, I wish you wouldn't have done this for me"
He stepped back and disappeared
She snapped back to reality, this 6 year old girl
Dancing on stage, as the audience adored
Her daddy still sitting there, she watched him record
