The Four Deaths

I was five.
And you were the first.
[Screaming]
Angels come to get me.
I was your namesake,
dreaming of bears
and
chairs.
Shhhh,
It’s a part of life

but isn’t death
the opposite of life?

I was nine.
And you were the second.
[Crying]
I wasn’t done living.p
I was your brother,
but I didn’t know you
and how could I?
To this day your absence
burns a cavity into
our lives.
[Crying]
What’s it like?

I was sixteen.
And you were the third.
[Screaming]
I can’t fight the darkness,
the suffocating emptiness.

I was your nephew,
but I never saw you
You
Couldn’t
Breathe
And I
Couldn’t
See
[Screaming]
What’s it like?

I was
at an age where I wasn’t ready
to lose someone else
especially not you, grandmother
You were never graceful with your love
but
You were always generous with your love
[Crying]
I don’t wanna leave
as you were eaten
from the inside out.
[Screaming]
What’s it like?
Is it just darkness?
Does it just end?
What’s it like?
