Frostbite in Summer

She hates herself,
nothing more could be clearer

Loving the sight of
the corpse in the mirror

The voice in her head
leaves her only skin and bone

She can count all her ribs but in the end
she is alone

Her clothes are falling off and
her head is spinning

Funny how she believes
that she's winning

To the number on the scale she soon
becomes a slave

Can't even see that she's
standing in her grave

She knows that she's sick but
still has no fears

"At least I'll be skinny"
is all that she hears

As the pounds keep dropping
her smile grows

But she'll be dead
by the time it first snows

Buried in the ice
where no one can see

The skeletal remnants
of who she used to be

Funny how no one noticed
for then they would know

That the girl in the coffin
died a long time ago.
