Darling, It's Cold Outside.

Wind chapped lips,
Shivering in the cold,
Jacket hanging loosely from arms,
Hat hugging head tight,
Cold wind beating my face, stinging,
Looking to where you're hiding,

Fingers turning red through gloves,
Boots crunching in the ice and snow,
Nose red like a cherry,
Scarf wrapped around neck, tickling,
Snowball flies past head,
Your laugh hear from a nearby tree,

Sun shining dimly in the sky,
Icicles hanging from branches,
A snowman peering from nearby,
Your jacket hugging you tightly,
You stare at me,
Another snowball ready for launch,

My hands held up in defense,
Without warning you wrap your arms around me,
Your warmth making me smile at an instant,
Nose pressed to mine,
Lips inches apart,
A sweet kiss you give me,

Snuggling by the fire,
Hot cocoa in hands,
Fuzzy socks hugging my feet,
Blanket wrapped around our bodies,
My home is with you,
You're the one to keep me warm.

Lately it's been cold around southwest Virginia and whenever my lover and I depart, he gives me a kiss that lives my lips warm for minutes after he leaves me. I wrote this kind of cute poem because I felt like it represents the way couples usually are in the winter holidays.
Enjoy.
