Dim the Lights

This heart is full of moonlight
This face reflects the sun
The stars shine through these eyes
This galaxy is the one

This is my night and day
This is my everything
But I'm too scared to show it
I need to spread my wings

My eyes are closes
I'm far too tall
Not scared of the height
Just scared of the fall

My head is hot
My feet are cold
My eyes glaze over
I'm ready to go

I bust out of my shell
And spread my wings
I pick up the glass shards
And gather my things

The door slams shut in front of me
The guard turns on his heel
A spark in my eyes
My hands bend the steel

I'm flying so high
And I am free
I dip wheel and soar
I am free I am me

And then the sun goes down
And I feel fine
Dim the lights
And the stars will shine
