You Are A Drug

Unkept promises and despair so deep
Always astonishing, the things you never mean.
I watch with caution, proceed with poise,
I need an outlet, to cancel out this noise.

My life is a constant buzzing,
Like bees in a hive.
Or the beeping of the heart monitor,
At your hospital's bedside.

This is agonizing,
I wait for you to flatline.
I wish this would end,
And that you would be mine.
