Until Tomorrow

Until Tomorrow
By: S. Rachele Chappell

The sun it woke me late today,
shook me from my bed of despair.
Stepped outside it was so nice,
reminds me of my dreams not here.
There's a lump in my throat,
a pain in my heart,
my stomach is churning,
I'm falling apart.
Same ol' sh*t,
another day.
Same ol' thing,
Are you OK?
I turn quick and walk away.

Eating food and drinking wine.
My inner soul is so confined.
Getting stoned to waste the time,
a quick cure to numb my mind.
If you ask, I'll say, "I'm fine",
even though I'm walking blind.
Filled with sugar, taste like lime.
Someone help me, please be kind.
Same ol' sh*t,
another day.
Same ol' thing,
Are you OK?
I turn quick and walk away.

The moon it rose into the night,
hid the pain that wasn't right.
Dreaming of a beautiful life,
then wake back into my strife.
Like a puppet on a string,
just taking what life brings.
So down on sorrow,
just fake a smile until tomorrow.
