A Note

this is a note to you,
my dear, dear, guide.
you were gone so soon that I couldn't even blink.

when I was younger,
I would look up at you for hours
wondering how it was that you were so wonderful.

then time got selfish and had to take you away.
but I know that's it's not forever.
I'll see you someday in the future.
it's a promise I intend to keep.
