We All Do

We all hear the rain as it shatters on the grass.
We all feel the wind as softly it does pass.
We all see the clouds that a storm does cast.
We all live here but still alas!

We draw a line into the sand.
We know each other by our lands.
We fight each other to last stand.
We turn from loving, gentle hand.

We all know mother, in some way.
We all learn love from early days.
We all have some small price to pay.
We all survive, but in this way?

We kill each other for golden prize
We leave each other compromised.
We care only for our allies.
We take from others their young lives.

We all go to sleep at night.
We all wake up in the bright light.
We all choose either flee or fight
We all find ourselves on opposing sides.
Yet we are all the same.
