Coming Down

Should I make my way down to the car?
Should I shed my skin and carry on?
Should I crack down on our foundation
And move on like a vagabond?

Can I trust you not to stick around?
Can I bury this deep in the ground?
Can I strike the match, and light the fuse
And burn our bridges all around?

May we move along and clean the slate?
May we weigh down our harm and hate?
May we rebuild all that we destroy
And protect the few things we create?

No one knows we put ourselves through
They wanna believe it's me but they know it's you
We tell lies that all resound as true
So let's turn our cheek and start anew
