I Miss You

God I miss you.
I feel like part of me is somewhere else,
Half my heart beating half the world away.
I’ve never been one to want it all,
Always –
I like my space.
But to fall asleep in your arms and wake up to your kiss…
I’ve never felt more right.
Distance is good for the soul
They say
And absence makes the heart grow fonder,
And too much of a good thing will make you sick
But I can’t help wanting to see you every day and all the time.
These miles between us seem so long,
The weeks without your touch make no sense
And I am living daydream to daydream,
Counting the days until I’m by your side again.
Oh how I miss you.
I’ve never felt this way before
And I’ll gladly take the happiness of being near you
With the sadness of being apart;
I just wish it didn’t ache so much when you’re away.
