The Revenant

The War that Began had been born of nothing,
The War that Became had never simply started,
The War the Was never had a name,
It simply was, The War,

And now, the War had found its way...
To my home...

Alhus, my homeworld,
My birthworld,
Alhus, my memories,
My freedoms,
Alhus, my death
My destruction,
My failure,

Alhus, my past...
Alhus, my future...

Once verdant lands, now vitrified tundras
Once bountiful oceans, now toxic sludges,
Hills and marshes, ponds and streams,
Now melted, festering, incinerated...

My world... now a polluted husk,
The War had found my home,
The War had ravaged my people,
The War had ravaged my mother, my father, my sister....
My... lover...
Inos...

Now I am alone, a wanderer of the Void,
Now I am a slave, a servant to the Void,
The Void that speaks, the Void that hungers,
The Void that consumes, the Void that wants,

My world is gone, my identity gone,
My family is gone, my people gone,
All that I am is no more, but I remain,

And the Void is my master, whose power I serve, and control...

And the War rages on, and spreads and spreads,
And new worlds are brought into the War,
Kicking and screaming,
And the War continues,

Eventually the War will end,
Eventually the War will die,
And that will remain,
Will become one with the Void, once again...

The Void speaks, the Void hungers,
The Void wants what i wants, the Void knows what it wants,
And I am a servant of the Void....

Now, this War... Shall feel the weight of its existence...
Now, this War... Shall understand, the truth of War...
Now, this War... Shall fall under my will...
Now the Void, shall be my...

Vengeance...

After the success of its predecessor, The War that Came Before, this poem fits as an expandable subplot for the internal conflicts of the original poem.
