You and I

The first day I saw you I knew
I loved you.
Every fibre of my being wanted to
Know you, and needed to
Know you.
I was addicted to you
Like a smoker to a cigarette,
And just like a smoker with a cigarette,
We were never seen without each other.
Over time you lost interest
And quit me,
Now, as your addiction ends
Mine starts,
And now even the cigarettes can’t make me warm
It’s like I’m freezing cold without your touch.
