Ode to Dethroned Mountains

Sentinel of earth and sky
Endeavor the long years
Passed cloud and inky ocean high
Only to bend then break in not-so-silent sigh
As those with filthy hands and devil’ eyes
Covet riches of another time
Tear foundation from beneath the feet of those who once worshipped
Where once stood Olympus now lay the crowns of broken courtship.
A vice upon your soul, and shackled body be that of punished Prometheus
Avarice stains the mind, breaks and steals solid ground beneath.
Shall we evolve above the earth, and ruin skys instead?
