A Rainy Day

What do you do on a rainy day?
When even your every mood stands in your way?

Take out a book and read you're told,
Slowly though, the written word grows old.

Your eyelids grow heavy and begin to droop,
So packing the book away, you go and make some soup.

It's warmth and homey flavors fill your soul,
As you slowly sip and empty your bowl.

Then you sit awhile outside,
And dream of the never-ending ocean's tide.

Your eyes begin to droop some more,
So you head back in silently closing the door.

So you decide to take a nap,
Your body moving like sluggish sap.

When you decide to open your eyes,
You slowly realize that rain is still in the skies.

It'll rain all day,
It'll rain with nothing more to say.

So nothing else gets done,
Because you're sitting, waiting for a renewed sun.
