Fighting Anxiety

Anxiety creates darkness,

Anxiety robs light,

It gives freedom to fear,

It takes away sight.

Anxiety creates walls,

Anxiety builds doubt,

It offers no reprieve

From what the fear is about.

The darkness it morphs,

Becomes a demon of night,

It drains the confidence to be,

Drags you out of the fight.

Anxiety is a prison,

Keeps you locked in a cell,

Takes you from the safety of heaven,

Delivers you to hell.

I fight for my freedom,

Escape anxieties claws,

Use the strength that’s inside me,

And accept all my flaws.
