He Says He Loves Me
He says he loves me,
But he can't stand the touch
Of my fingers brushing against his arm;
It makes him uncomfortable.
He says he loves me,
But he doesn't caress me
Like lovers do;
Instead,
He keeps his distance.
He says he loves me
As he kisses me goodnight
And rolls onto his side,
Not even facing my direction;
We don't share the same blanket.
He says he loves me,
But his words don't match his actions
And I no longer know which to trust;
Is this what it feels like to be in love?
Because I've had enough.
But he can't stand the touch
Of my fingers brushing against his arm;
It makes him uncomfortable.
He says he loves me,
But he doesn't caress me
Like lovers do;
Instead,
He keeps his distance.
He says he loves me
As he kisses me goodnight
And rolls onto his side,
Not even facing my direction;
We don't share the same blanket.
He says he loves me,
But his words don't match his actions
And I no longer know which to trust;
Is this what it feels like to be in love?
Because I've had enough.
