Free Will Fable

Don’t dally the days away in rumination
Cast them off, cavorting all over creation
Because there’s a god in the trees
But it won’t ask you to get on your knees
You don’t gotta choose between servant or serpent
Salvage your autonomy and fuck that false dichotomy
Maybe there’s some sort of truth out there
But only madmen and the devil may care

For God spun a free will fable when he killed Abel
He's something of a cosmic joker and a constant powerbroker
Cataphatic my ass, he just thinks life's a gas
So I’d rather be a convicted Cain, leading a life of wandering
With no call for slaughtering, none of that squandering
Contented to fuck around, picking the fruit of the ground

There's no guilt or gratitude to justify such sacrifice
Once you’ve realized earth is your promised paradise
For there’s no eye in the sky to see your choice
No ear in the atmosphere to hear your voice
There's no sinful soul to save
Just ride along with that wave
Just living within the now
In the inevitable Tao
