The Dark and the Light-Switch

Walking in the corridor,
In pure darkness.
I've been looking for the light-switch for months,
And I still have no light.

I'm so frightened,
So scared I won't be able to find it.
I can't find,
My way back to my joyous room.

I stumble,
And trip over a plethora of obstacles in my path.
My leg becomes fractured,
My arm cut open.

I keep walking,
Cautious and afraid.
I think about,
Giving up on everything I once loved.

If I give up,
I will no longer be able to see the few people who love me.
They'll also,
No longer get to see or love me.

If don't give up, however,
I might find the light-switch.
I think I'll keep going,
And maybe I'll find that switch.
