Dying Together

I'm crying and dying,
my heart is ripped out,
To see the little body in front of me.

I'm lying here tangled,
my life is in two,
seeing the little body in front of me.

His smile has died,
His face has gone black,
covered by death and shadows,
And I see his little body in front of me.

The spirits are talking,
They whisper his name,
But NO! I cry,
As they pull him away,

Now he is empty,
His organs have stopped,
His breathing has ceased,
And now I am lost,
The moon is waning,
And the spirits have hushed,
Faded away,
To crumbling dust.

And now I am tired,
I rest down my head,
I am weary,
I am calm,
And now I am dead,

They take me away,
To a world unknown,
And I rejoin him,
My brother,
My friend.
