One Day

Just another face in the crowd,
With her head in the clouds.
Lives somewhere unreal,
Doesn't know how we deal.

Instead of fighting back,
Herself is the attack.
If you look at her arms,
You can see all the harm.

She doesn't realize this is bad,
So she does it whenever she's sad.
Making sure no one will know,
The scar begins to grow.

But then that fateful day,
She throws her old habit away.
It only caused her so much pain,
Not one thing did she gain.

Now she lives not in fear,
Hardly ever shedding a tear.
Instead she wears a smile,
This feeling will be here for awhile.
