Dewdrops on Spiderwebs

Pretty images flash behind them, repeating,
a never ending dance of flowers and leaves.
Many candles light the room, smiling faces illuminate-
set the mood for what; I'm unsure, I don't belong here...
But songs of colours on clouds have my dreaming.

This isn't what I expected,
but I'm just so jaded, who could blame me?
Stuck between where I am,
and where I want to be.
Inspiration can see through my charade,
and it strikes in the strangest of places.

Sitting in mixed company, whispers arise but I'm oblivious.
Goosebumps dot my skin, but my heart is warm.
In angelic voices she tells her tales.
perfectly accompanied and I am stricken.
I watch the wall fade to dewdrops on spiderwebs,
Excitement and crescendo.

This isn't what I expected,
but I'm just so jaded, who could blame me?
Stuck between where I am,
and where I want to be.
Inspiration can see through my charade,
and it strikes in the strangest of places.

Make new friends
but keep the old
one is silver
and the other's gold.
