The Village Raid

A many piece is broken now
Burdens die alone somehow
The moon casts light upon the blood
Of men and brothers that we loved
We sat so anxiously and quiet
Thinking of the long past riot
Killed our men and left us broken
Took all words that lay unspoken
I shook so terrible that night
Knowing what he said was right
Give all up for none to gain
Cut yourself to feel the pain
I woke in shock and screamed so bad
Echo through my own rain cloud
I bit myself and tasted blood
Of men that I had once loved
I took on all my pain and fear
Screamed so loud for all to hear
Echo on that fateful night
Made the day time seem so right
I wrote a letter and I left
I waded into water shores
Begging for your kiss once more
Longing for you at the door
