Who Am I?

I am not the girl you call stuck up,
Nor am I conceited.
I am not the girl who has walked on others,
Just to get what I needed.

I am not mean or hateful,
I am not heartless and cold.
I am not mindless and stupid,
Though I’m not perfect nor made of gold.

I am not the girl with lots of money,
I won’t change for a guy,
And if I’m not any of these,
Then who am I?

I am the girl with a heart,
And a conscience, nonetheless.
I want to be there for my friends,
For them I always try my best.

I am the girl with an open mind,
I don’t care what you look like.
You can be black, white, prep, or goth,
Mind over matter, or mind over sight.

I am the girl who doesn’t care what you say,
Call me goth, emo, cutter.
I’ll stand up against you,
And trust me, I won’t stutter.

I am the girl who dresses how I want,
My favorite colors are black, green, and pink.
I love Hello Kitty and Care Bears,
And I don’t care what you think.

I won’t leave it up to anyone,
To define who I am, you see.
I know who I am,
I am me.
