Magic

Have you ever taken a moment?
A pause in your life,
To think,
To think about everything,
But nothing at all?

Have you ever stopped and wondered,
Why you are here?
Why you are here and now,
At this very second of time?

Have you ever put your busy life on hold,
To play dolls with your daughter?
Or catch with your son?

Have you ever,
Wondered out in the woods,
Gotten lost,
And loved every minute of it?
Just to be out there,
Hear the birds,
And the rustle of the leaves,
Against the wind.

Have you ever caught yourself,
Wishing to be a child again?
So careless and free.

Do you remember,
When you would stay up late into the night,
Under the light of the moon,
Catching those fireflies,
That once amazed you?

Do you remember,
When the biggest problem in the world,
To you was a paper cut?

Do you remember,
The time you would fall down,
On the ground,
Dizzy from spinning,
And stare up at the clouds?
Seeing bunnies and flowers,
Butterflies and pirate ships.

Do you remember,
The magic of being a child?

I do,
I remember.
