Sonnet of the Tainted
Sonnet of the Tainted
The Darkness kissed my face,
My heart did crumble and fade,
Now owned by hatred and fear,
And now I am no one dear.
Blood stained my pale, soft palm.
All through the night there was no calm
Screams formed songs in my ears,
And went ignored were my pained tears.
I lay tossing and turning,
Laughing, all the while crying.
There is no hope for redemption,
For a heart near-void of emotion.
Cold stabs kept me awake,
Nightmares linger, I can’t forsake.
My tears flowed, my heart bled
Into the darkness I forever tread.
Kiss me now, O blessed Light,
Save me from this wretched blight!
My pains I can shoulder no more.
This time I want to reach the shore.
I awake, tears dry on my cheeks,
My soul sang. My heart beat.
But my hand blood it still bore.
Tears and blood flow forevermore.
The Darkness kissed my face,
My heart did crumble and fade,
Now owned by hatred and fear,
And now I am no one dear.
Blood stained my pale, soft palm.
All through the night there was no calm
Screams formed songs in my ears,
And went ignored were my pained tears.
I lay tossing and turning,
Laughing, all the while crying.
There is no hope for redemption,
For a heart near-void of emotion.
Cold stabs kept me awake,
Nightmares linger, I can’t forsake.
My tears flowed, my heart bled
Into the darkness I forever tread.
Kiss me now, O blessed Light,
Save me from this wretched blight!
My pains I can shoulder no more.
This time I want to reach the shore.
I awake, tears dry on my cheeks,
