Pot O' Gold

I looked down upon what was left.
Forests burned down.
Houses a mess.

I starred deeply into peoples souls.
I saw shredded hearts.
And gaping holes.

I laughed into the eyes of fear.
I said: "Never back down,
stand tall and appear."

I glared at those who simply moped.
Just waiting and watching.
Because you can't cope?

I looked aimlessly at kids across the nation.
Screaming but being unheard.
So full of frustration.

I prayed for those who truly tried.
I said: "Never back down,
stand tall and take pride."

I watched soldiers marching through debris.
Others lay limp being trampled.
Where could they possibly flee?

I helped people who were merely falling.
Picked them up and sat them down.
It was my calling.

I fought and fought but was sold.
I said: " Never back down,
you'll move on to gold."

So now I watch from above.
I still help.
By giving my love.

Some have came to visit here.
To be free and safe.
So far from fear.

I said: " Always be bold until the end,
it'll be waiting...
the Pot O' Gold my friend.
