Fake Smiles

Out she walks, not a care in the world.
Or so everyone thinks.
Inside she's crying, dying.
The girl with a fake smile.

Nothing is the same anymore.
She used to be happy, but then she changed.

If anyone asks, she's fine.
Nobody knows how she really feels.
So much on her shoulders, no release.

When will it end?
All she can see ahead is darkness.
Forever a dark cloud over her.

A tear forms, gently slipping away from the glittering emerald of her eye.
But she wipes it away quickly.
She can't let anyone know how she really feels.
It's her secret.

Deep breath, shoulders back, fake a smile, and nobody can tell.
Nobody can see.
Nobody can know.
