A Pencil Adventure

I picked up a pencil and I declared,
“Imagine? Ha! You have never dared!
Now before you doubt and you deny
These statements let me show you why
I know you’ve never dreamed before!”
With that I drew a giant door,
I turned the knob and stepped right through!
Looked back and said, “You coming, too?”
You followed me quite eagerly
So here I drew an open sea!
Upon it then I drew a boat
And on we jumped to stay afloat!
“To think, you thought I was a bore!”
I said, and drew a sandy shore.
I drew a jagged mountain top
And up we climbed and didn’t stop
Until we reached the other side
And here I drew a water slide,
An innertube of Marshmellow
And a swimming pool of green jello!
We splashed and splished until I drew
A giant cosmic Martian zoo!
With alien pandas and alien birds,
Alien tigers and elephant herds.
But oh! I was sad so I drew a big key
And unlocked all the cages and let them go free!
Then I drew a big train and a long winding track,
Drew a conductor and hopped in the back.
Drew in scenery just to watch it pass by
With a big open field and a moon in the sky.
And that’s when you saw the smile creep on my face,
And I said, “Let’s blast off into outer space!”
I drew a big space ship and we counted down,
Then BLAM! And soon we were out of this town,
Out of this atmosphere, out of this world,
Around us my magical galaxies swirled
As I drew them; And so I very soon
Drew a spectacular green cheese moon!
And we landed upon it, and here I declared,
“Without me you wouldn’t go anywhere,
Without me you wouldn’t have any fun!”
And you grinned and replied, “Well, let me try one…”
And I said, “I guess it won’t hurt if you tried”
So I gave you the pencil and I stood aside
And my shock was something I just could not hide
When you drew my heart and stepped right inside. :)
