A Big Glass Empty

She dreams of
Smiles,
Laughs.
Love she can never have.

She dreams of
Dandelions,
Sunsets.
Beauty she can never see.

She dreams of
The top,
Succeeding.
Something she can never achieve.

She dreams of
Tears,
Grief.
A pain she can never feel.

She dreams of
Hands,
Mist.
A sensation she’ll never understand.

She dreams of
Perfume,
Soap.
Aromas she can no longer smell.

She dreams of
Hate,
Betrayal.
A strain she’ll never need to know.

She dreams of
Life,
Breathing.
Something that was once rudely taken.

She dreams of
Running,
Jumping.
Movements no longer available.

She dreams of
Death,
Emptiness.
But then remembers...it isn’t a dream.
